CentrePort Canada
SUPPLY OF SPECIALIZED MECHANICALLY STABILIZED EARTH WALLS AGGREGATE
CentrePort Canada is North America’s largest inland port, offering 20,000 acres industrial land and access to tri-modal transportation. The projects goal was to provide a high speed route for the Trans-Canada Highway to the Perimeter Highway, including three Class I railways, global air cargo airport and an international trucking hub.
Chabot’s role in this monumental infrastructure development was to produce more than 600,000 tonnes of specialized Mechanically Stabilized Earth Walls aggregate material. With a challenging specification and aggressive production schedule, Chabot successfully delivered on-time and on-budget during the course of the multi-year construction project. Chabot’s aggregate is one of the select few deposits located in the Winnipeg Capital Region which meets the stringent electro-chemical property requirements of the material specifications.
